MEETING Jan 8, 2009
The following is the Minutes of SIAP Board of Directors' meeting on
01/08/2009:
Date: Thursday, Jan 08, 2009
Location: Colorado Community Room
Present members:
Hashem Modjarrab
Abdi Ziai
Shahram Shokoufandeh

Ashraf Hemmati

Ashkan Afshari
Agenda:
Nowruz Party:

Ashraf proposed 2 options as the place of Nowruz
ceremony:
* Queen Marry
* 1010 Wilshire Blvd.
Of which the latter one was approved by the board members.
- Shahram, Ashraf and Bijan had to coordinate some of the ceremony programs such as parking, catering, tables and seats arrangements and etc.
- Tickets were decided to be sold no more than 65-70$ per persons with the consideration of minimum 5$ returns (per ticket) for SIAP. Board also decided to consider some special tickets with lower price (about 40$) for students or young non-member architects.
- It was decided to have some sponsors for the ceremony and to introduce them in the party. Some of which were discussed in the meeting is listed bellow;
August Construction
Acura Dealership
DMF Lighting
Building Owner
- Hashem would work on the agenda of the Nowruz Ceremony.
Monthly Events Program:
- Abdi will have his presentation on Jan. 22nd
- Jan 29th ; Ahmad Goshayeshi will have a presentation. Ashraf will contact him for Jan 29th Subject not known yet.
- Feb 26th Nima Doff will have a presentation
- For other Thursday meetings of the January Hashem will coordinate with Goli for LEED classes and Abdi for film presentations
* Nima said that she will update all the SIAP contacts and addresses by sending email to or calling them.
