2007 SIAP Election

SIAP Board of Directors 2007 Election were held on February1, 2007, 7:00 PM at Colorado Community Room, 2500 Broadway St., Santa Monica, CA 90404.  SIAP Board of Directors Candidates were:

1- Ali Amani
2- Mohammad Borghei 
3 - Majid Falamaki ( VP position )
4- Mir Hashem Modjarrab
5- David Hedvat
6- Ashraf Hemmati ( VP position ONLY)
7- Hamid Omrani ( VP position )
8- Shahram Shokofandeh 
9- Iraj Yamin Esfandiary
10- Abdolreza Ziai

Mr. Iraj Yamin Esfandiary objected about members' candidacy for VP position if they have already served one year as board member based on SIAP Bylaws, section 5.  This year due to the confusion for interpreting the Bylaws, voting in favor of 16 to 1, members decided to be able to vote for Mr. Falamaki, and in near future, they would add an amendment to SIAP Bylaws in a general assembly to clear any further confusion. 

Base on the decision, Mr. Iraj Yamin Esfandiary & Mr. David Hedvat withdrew their candidacies before the election as an objection to the wrongful voting on the SIAP by-laws.  Mr. Iraj Yamin Esfandiary  had previously emailed his plan to members.

Then, Mr. Armanpour present his proposal for this year of SIAP activities as President elect following with Mr. Falamaki's plan and Ms. Ashraf Hemati's. And then each candidate presents their plan for the coming year. Then after all members heard candidates' proposals, then they voted for their candidates.

Mr. Ali Amani during his presentation for plan for next year surprised members by wearing printed T-shirt with SIAP logo as a way of advertising for SIAP and its website.  T-shirts were printed by help of Mr. Kamyar Zadeh at Vision MC Graphic Design Company.

This is to acknowledge and certify that the following list represent the true revised classes among SIAP members as well as Election Result in 2007:

* Iraj and David withdrew prior to election.

Dr. Mahmood Naraghi will retire after serving two years as VP and President.  Mr. Bijan Armandpour will serve as President for 2007 and Mrs. Rosy Shokofandeh will continue her service as treasurer for second year.
